Pterygium Removal

Surgery is the only way to remove a pterygium. Our doctors perform this procedure in an outpatient setting under local anesthesia. The pterygium is peeled from the underlying layers of the eye. The surface of the eye is smoothed out, and the blood vessels are cauterized. A conjunctival graft is used in most cases.
