YAG Laser

Posterior capsule opacities can be treated with a YAG laser in an outpatient setting. The YAG laser is used to remove the central portion of the hazy posterior capsule.

This laser procedure usually requires dilation of the eye. The actual procedure takes only a few minutes, and is painless. The patient will use eye drops for approximately 1 week following the procedure.

Patients may return to their normal activities immediately following this procedure.
